Coming tomorrow: 7 Days of Gratitude Drawing
Steady your breath. Ready your pencil. Let's do this together.
Hi DT GUT family,
I’m popping into your inbox this Saturday AM with a special heads up:
This coming Thursday is Thanksgiving in the USA. Like most national holidays around the world, it can be both celebratory and challenging - historically and within our own families. Given that, and all the hard, horrible stuff going on in the world right now, I thought we could use a little extra big-feelings-processing-support in the week ahead. I mean, I know I can.
Starting tomorrow, I’ll be sending GUT subscribers a daily gratitude-focused drawing prompt every day for seven days. These will be short prompts to keep us drawing and writing a little bit every day (just 10-15 minutes, that’s it) with a focus on gratitude, connecting the internal and the external/the micro with the macro. If folks want to draw in community, we will be sharing our gratitude drawings with one another every day in the GUT group chat.
One note about gratitude: being grateful does not preclude us from being engaged. In fact, gratitude is essential to connect with the world in a generative, just and impactful way. When we do not practice gratitude for all we have/are/experience, it is easy to take things for granted, burn out, and/or shift into a deficit mentality. Gratitude helps us tap into our deeper selves and create space. Be present with one another. Stay connected.
Drawing a gratitude a day is a small daily effort, but small efforts like this can create a big internal shift - especially when we do it together, and especially in tough times. I think anyone who did the 30-day Drawing Habit with me would likely agree.
If you are not a subscriber to the Grown-Ups Table, you’ll still receive the Sunday GUT dispatch per usual, but the daily drawing prompts will only be delivered to GUT subscribers, and only subscribers will have access to the chat. If you are not a GUT subscriber and would like to get in on the daily drawing action/chat, join in here:
For folks who want to participate but are experiencing financial hardship, please reach out to me. Nobody will be turned away from the Grown-Ups Table for lack of loot. (Thank you paying subscribers for making that possible.)
Let’s see how seven days of drawing gratitude helps keep us grounded, remain open and connected to one another and ourselves.
See you this Sunday.
ps - spread the word.
