Yayyyyyy!! So looking forward to doing this again! I was an enthusiastic participant last January but fell off the wagon during what was a rather rough year on several fronts. The 30-day Drawing Habit will be just what I need to jumpstart my creative juices again and set me up for a better year in 2025. Thank you, Wendy, for your joyful inspiration and ongoing commitment to building community through art! And thank you Art Auntie Kathleen and Kyle Ranson-Walsh for all your dedicated behind-the-scenes work and encouragement! Can’t wait to meet all you GUT folks again in January!

Hooray! This was a present I gave myself last Christmas and for 30 days I was thrilled to get the prompt and to take 10 minutes out of my day to create. What an inspiration! What a great supportive community! On Feb. 1st we left the country and traveled and my daily drawing slacked off -- BUT I still hopped back on the drawing train now and again and ESPECIALLY when the project was decorating envelopes together for Vote Forward. For anyone considering this as a gift to themselves to start 2025 with creativity & community -- I highly reccommend this!

I'm back too, y'all! First timer in 2024, I kept going with the weekly prompts and have joyfully embraced a regular, more than weekly drawing practice. I've made cards, signs, portraits, gifts. Posted experiments, unfinished sketches, images I truly love. Tried new techniques and materials. Also learned from and celebrated everyone who posts in the chat (subscribers only). You will ❤️ the ❤️ you get from the group! Join up! Wendy, Art Auntie Kathleen and Kyle are the best! 😘😘

What was the youtube video you watched on watercolor pencils? I keep tossing mine aside too!

Catherine Stifter: Watched a YouTube tutorial and pulled out the box of watercolor pencils that I've never known how to use and so tossed aside. It's an inexpensive set and I'm playing and learning!

I've watched a couple and can't recommend one over the other. Just search how to use watercolor pencils. You'll find one!

I'm new here, but this seems like the perfect thing to kickstart my art habit in 2025. I have a "rollover resolution" from last year to use up my art supplies! Ready, set, go!

So glad this is coming back! Thanks Wendy!!

I was very committed and followed all the rules and posted in the chat and loved how different I felt at the end of just one month. But as soon as the daily prompts were gone so was my daily practice. I managed only a handful of the weekly prompts. ☹️ I hope I can keep it going all year this time!! No pressure, no pressure. 😆

Whoop whoop. I was only thinking about the 30 days of drawing about the same time you sent out the email! I was sat here hoping it was going to be happening again in the new year. Thank you 😊👍🏻🎊

So so looking forward to it - this year i went from the 30 day drawing challenge > 100 days of watercolour > big new project that I’ve applied to an artists incubator program and getting some mentoring (the mentorship is actually for writing) amazing the momentum it brings. Thanks team!

I’m looking forward to doing this again in 2025! I really enjoyed the challenge last year and this year I am focusing on ensuring I give myself plenty of time to be creative. I like the structure of a carved-out time each day to do something fun to help quiet my perfectionist mind.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Wendy!! I found last year's challenge difficult to keep up with because of the length of each day's post. I can't wait for this more streamlined version and I love the framing of good enough, less is more etc. Happy 2025!!

I registered for last years class but was unable to participate due to illness.

I am a beginner. Would it make sense to take this class if I did not do 2024?

I am so looking forward to another 30-day drawing habit. The GUT has been the very best for keeping me going, and keeping me accountable, for a consistent art practice. This is such a beautiful and supportive community. I am so thankful for you—Wendy, Kyle, and Kathleen—for all that you do in keeping the GUT alive and thriving! Today I was thinking about the assignment in which we combined drawings of objects with words selected at random. I’d love to do that assignment again, and also to explore new media.

Gifting myself another year! Aiming to be more consistent after January’s daily practice so I can start to see shifts in my art and confidence. Grateful for all the feedback and camaraderie this year !

Can’t wait! Funny thing, after this year’s I ended up applying to a BFA program. Ha! A 43 year old art student entering my second semester along side Drawing Together again with you all!! 💕

Very cool! You were going to be 43 anyway so might as well be doing what you want. 💯

Good for you!!! I also returned to school in my 40s (some time ago). It was better than when I attended in my 20s because I was much clearer about what I wanted to achieve and was more focused on getting there. Good luck and have fun!
