Thanks to the 200 or so people who showed up on the zoom call today. It was so nice to see faces with names I’ve gotten to know. Thanks to @Kyle ranson-Walsh, Molly, and Anne Mercogliano for doing all the tech work, for Anne Mercogliano for the Vote Forward info, and to @Wendy MacNaughton for doing this. And especially thanks to everyone who sends a letter to encourage a voter, because every vote counts, up and down the ballot.

Hello beautiful GUT community. I’ve been away for a bit after ending a 1 year sabbatical and returning to work. Just popping in here to say, I’m in solidarity with this project!

I’ve completed 200 Vote Forward letters over last 2 months. My messaging is about being a healthcare provider who has taken care of so many families affected by gun violence - so gun violence prevention as my motive for voting. I make sure to end every letter with: YOUR VOICE MATTERS, YOUR VOTE MATTERS ❤️

I hope to return very soon! For now, all left over energy is going to GET OUT THE VOTE❤️

I didn’t make it for the call but I’m so glad to now know about Vote Forward! Signing up now. I’ve been looking for some direction to focus my anxiety and desire to encourage folks to vote while I’m home with my toddler and this is perfect. I always love to decorate envelopes when sending letters through the mail. I can’t wait to have fun AND help protect democracy at the same time. Thank you for this 💜

yes to this entire week. i had never heard of voteforward until this class of wendy's came up. so i owe you because writing to strangers is right up my alley as a memberof postcrossings for 2 1/2 years now. i have received postcards from russia, the ukraine, everywhere you can imagine and it's a joy to respond and/or being the initial responder. and yes we decorate our postcards too so i have tons of ephemera to do something with during the vote forward event. collage is acceptible i would imagine and i was wondering, besides the extra stuff you can download on the vote forward site, like voters checklist, could a person tuck in a non-partisan zine, or something not per se dealing with voting, but just another perk? or how about a line of poetry

and one more debt of gratitude to our fearless leader who since she first mentioned corita kent a few months or more ago, has made a devotee out of me for the artwork of sister corita. so much so that i have managed to collect used copies of almost everything out there she was responsible for. she supposedly only wrote one book, but t'aint true, including some terrific children's books on mary corita, there are quite a few by her. thank you wendymac for clueing me in to the wondrous world of 'sister little heart'.

also, i am using a dying computer-it refuses to use capitalization, punctuation, etc. etc. so i will apologize for maybe it 'beig hard to ead' ---it also hates certain letters, which means i have to check anything i write more than once.
