Register for The First LIVE GUT Gathering (& Intro to Watercolor) - It's Tomorrow!
Also, did you know Prince was a watercolor painter?
Helllooooo creative, curious, artistically-inclined friends.
This is your last minute reminder:
Tomorrow, Sunday, August 20 at 12pm PST is the first ever Grown-Ups Table (GUT) Gathering LIVE online.
Hundreds of people from around the world have registered attend, so barring a technical collapse (🤞) it should be a robust, lively, international group of creative folks hanging out and making a beautiful mess together. (No experience required.) All you need to do is be a subscriber/GUT member, register at the link at the bottom of this email and show up tomorrow at 12pm PST with bells (and watercolors) on.
What we’ll do
We’ll say hi and get to know one another a bit, and spend most of the time (unlike our hero Prince in the photo above) actually watercoloring and drawing together.
I’ll offer a basic, interactive intro to painting with watercolor (materials and techniques), and give a demo of how I approach watercolor. Then we’ll put on some music, and just draw together and hang out. Maybe do a little Q&A, have a little show, swap info if we want to... and boom, we made some art, and some friends.
All in around an hour.
What to bring
Watercolor paints (don’t have to be fancy), a brush or two or three (again, not fancy), water in a cup or bowl, some heavy weight paper of some sort and something to mix paints on. Any plate will do. Maybe a paper towel. If you don’t have these things, that’s okay. You can still watch and learn and draw or paint with whatever you got.
Also, bring something you’d like to try painting. Something that brings you joy. I’m bringing flowers.
