Flamingo! Flamahngo!

Hasenpfeffer Incorporated!*

DT Folks who got that Laverne and Shirley reference: did you see there’s a DT Grown-Ups Table? It’s an experiment for subscribers, and we’ll see it how goes. My idea to create a space for DT-minded grownups where I can share art/drawing topics that have captured my interest, offer drawing suggestions, tips, prompts and assignments, introduce you to inspiring artists, and more. Also, it’s a place where we can gather, share ideas, support one another, get/stay motivated, and learn and grow as artist-people, together. We all need that. Sound good? Grab a pen, paper & pull up a chair. You’ll get a new letter from me every week, maybe more. And best of all, by subscribing to the DT Grown-Ups Table, you’re helping keep DT Kids content FREE for all, forever. Thank you .<3

Now back to the very serious drawing at hand.

From tropical shorelines to a Floridian grandparent’s front lawn, flamingos signal a little piece of paradise. They make us think of pink-hot Summers, running through sprinklers, and slow motion ocean spray (literal, and cranberry.) In DrawTogether this week, we’re celebrating sunny triple digit vibes by learning to drawing these majestic birds. Or, as I like to call them, “oval, triangle, circle, swooping lines, sticks.”

They are so fun to draw.

oval, triangle, circle, oh my!

But first, Flamingo trivia:

Q. Why are flamingos pink?

Q. Why do flamingos stand on one leg?

Q. What do you call a group of flamingos?

Grab your art supplies and press play. All Q’s will be A’d as we hang out and learn to draw a flamboyance of flamingos. (Aaaand I gave away Q 3.)

In fact, let’s do a little “everyone wins” contest. If you want to post your flamingo drawing on instagram and tag @drawtogther.studio *and* answer Q 1 or 2, we will send you some super exclusive DT club stickers in the mail and feature your drawing in next weeks newsletter.

Cannot wait to see your flamingo drawings!

xoxo,

w
