7 Days of Creative Engagement starts this Sunday!

Hey! I’m popping up on a Tuesday with some BIG NEWS:

I’ve been wondering: how can us creative people (yes, that’s you) DO SOMETHING around the election? How can artists use their head/heart/hands to engage? How can we use our creativity for change in 2024?

Then I had a lightening bolt moment. Let’s….

And let’s do it together.

On Sunday, September 8, I’m launching…

DrawTogether in Action: 7 Days of Creative Engagement

Every day for a week I’ll send the whole lot of us (60k and counting) a mini lesson highlighting artists who use creativity to push for change. These lessons will draw from art makers around the world who work in all different mediums (text! portraits! quilts! oh my!) These lessons will be free for all. You don’t need to do anything to get them - if you’ received this missive, you’ll receive them, too. My hope is these lessons are also a solid resource for educators and parents looking for creative ways to discuss the power of art for social engagement with young people.

I’ll also offer subscribers a daily drawing assignments to put these lessons into practice. We’ll share our drawings every day in the GUT Community Art Share for inspiration, accountability and support. Drawing assignments and GUT community are available to subscribers only. Subscriptions make this whole darn thing possible, so thank you for subscribing! If you want to become a sub but are unable to due to hardship, scholarships are available. On the final day - Sunday, Sept. 15 at 10am PT - I’m hosting a gathering on Zoom for EVERYONE on zoom in real time for a creative collective action. This is for open and free for everyone in DrawTogether.

We’ll hang out as a group and hand-paint and draw notes to voters in swing-states encouraging them to vote! And maybe some artist-guests will join us… (Paging

!) It will be a fun way to get to hang with other artists and makers and DO SOMETHING, together.
